Once graduating from York in 1993, James gained a place at the renowned London Academy of Music & Dramatic Arts, from where he graduated in 1996.
Since then, he has appeared in diverse West End productions and television series way too as on radio. His West End debut in Old Wicked Songs alongside Bob Hoskins in 1996 even earned him the Jack Tinker Award for Most Promising Newcomer. James, who “believes in striving everything” has also been involved in projects on the other side of the camera, writing and directing. His directional debut was Beginner’s Luck, a co-production of his and Nick Cohen’s Late Night Pictures and Angel Eye Film & TV, starring Julie Delpy, Steven Berkoff and Fenella Fielding. Beginner’s Luck which was revealed at the London Film Festival and in selected cinemas across the UK in 2002.
He finished filming his 1st role in a cinema film, Bridget Jones’s Diary, alongside Renee Zellweger & Hugh Grant, in the summer of 2000 and between a couple of further film and TV roles went back on action in the Soho Theatre in December 2002 for a few week for a play named “Things You Shouldn’t Say Past Midnight”.
James, who has two sisters, is 33 and lives in London with his wife Neha and their little son Josh who was born in 2003. Apart from acting, directing & writing, the multitalented man also plays piano and guitar to performance level.
